In today’s age we’ve seen a lot of new developments within the security field. Within this field the technology is becoming better and better as the the quality, reliability, and sustainability of Network Video Recorders and Digital Video Recorders are lasting longer and the development of “on the go” security is widely spreading. Now, with all NVRs and DVRs, you can watch, view, and get notifications from your mobile device & computers where ever you are in the world. Thanks to this technology you do not have to worry about leaving for a vacation, or a business trip.
What makes this all possible?
In today’s world, with the help of the internet, it is now possible to view your home or business remotely from anywhere in the world as long as there is WiFi, or 3G/4G wireless connection. With today’s NVRs and DVRs and Surveillance Systems it is now a standard with them all. To do this the security technician should be able to login to your ISPs Router/Modem and open ports within the Firewall of your ISPs Router/Modem. What this allows is a secure connection via your home or businesses Public IP Address and depending on what ports are opened your mobile device or computer can enter your home or businesses public IP address in to a web browser and it can connect you directly to your Surveillance System. This can also be done by setting up NAT or a Network Address Translation. This is the most common way to setup remote viewing for Security Systems. This allows for the NVR or DVR to be connected to the internet without having a STATIC IP Address and it is also much easier than logging into a Modem/Router to configure port forwarding.
